Day 18 Report

Day 18 - 29/4/08 - Boonooroo to Rainbow Beach

The tide and the wind were both coming the wrong way today. In the straits the wind was about 15-18 knots but I could still make about 6km/hr most of the time. It also varied a bit between south east and south west.

When I went out to sea at Inskip Point the wind picked up to more than 20 knots and I was lucky to get to 4km/hr with a lot of the time battling at just over 3km/hr. It was from the south east with about 1m confused chop. The swell was small so that was a consolation coming in near Rainbow.

It was early to bed and wait until the morning to see what the weather reports are like but it is not possible to get from Double Island Point to Noosa in a day in such conditions.
