Day 26 - 7/5/08 - Bribie Island Bridge to Sandgate
The weather was perfect with hardly any breeze. After a reception at the Bongaree jetty and a radio interview it was off across the bay to Scarborough. There wasnít much to see except for a few boats trying their luck with the fish. The horizon gradually changes though and as you get closer to shore the features start to make sense.
I found John at Scarborough and paddled along the shore past Redcliffe to Woody Point where he handed me an iced coffee before setting off across the bay again to Sandgate.
On the way across the North Easter finally started to blow and by the time I got there it was up to 10-12 knots.
Amanda (daughter) lives at Sandgate so she met us and we had a celebratory beer as we reckoned Sandgate just about counted as being back in Brisbane.
