Day 67 Report

.Day 67 - 1/8/07 - 93kms from Wilcannia

Steve's Report: .Well, it was back on the road. It is not an all weather road so there is no gravel on it. The condition changes from pretty smooth to broken and rough. I managed 32km but was not good at the end.

There is a major blister on my right heel that I thought might have gone but has reappeared. Also my shoulder complained a lot. It also complained when I was paddling so me think it doth protest too much.

Currently we are 93km out of Wilcannia. No significant rain is predicted around here.

There may be more water down near Menindee according to Terry Loos's contacts so let's see what happens
.

Jonathan's Report: It has been a really good week.

We have been without internet signal since I commenced supporting Steve on the 25th of July so this is the first entry from myself.

It has been very nice camping on the side of the river at night and visiting the old pubs along the way. So far for me the Tilpa pub has had the most character and the best vibe.

The Darling River is something truly beautiful and is an impressive sight to see in certain areas. We are camping on the side of the road tonight, as there was not enough water in the river for Steve to continue paddling as of this morning.

Jonathan out for a run Coming in for a lunch stop. This is a
bit different to the last few weeks!

Driving in the wet is not always that straight
