Day 95 Report

.Day 95 - 29/9/07 - 149.5kms Downstream of Wentworth

Steve's Report: I think the pictures tell it all. 52.5km plus walking around locks 8 and 7 so not too bad an effort for the day. Also had phone coverage and managed to get my credit card unblocked after Jonathan picked it up from Fishers Fuel at Wentworth where I was stupid enough to leave it. They had rung Westpac who contacted Carol so we are very grateful.

It is kind of nice to be out on the river away from people again even though the Willow Bend Caravan park that we stayed at in Wentworth is easily the best caravan park we stayed at. Andrew also looked after us price wise as well. The whole Wentworth experience was great and I guess that is why a lot of river travelers go back there and settle down.

This is the sun coming up as
viewed from my sleeping bag
Difficult to see this with the clouds reflected
in there but this is passing over what was
a lot of weed most of the day
Floating weed ahead
Typical morning shot along the river Here comes the wind again. Notice the weed This guy was stuck here because there was
not enough water downstream of the lock.
He had been there for a month and
expected another four
Note the date on the lock - 1932. Same
as Sydney Harbour Bridge and the
Grafton Bridge if I remember rightly
This is where I had arranged to meet
Jonathan for the night. He figured out to go
further downstream though and we
caught up via UHF
Late afternoon
