Cities should not steal water
It is not morally acceptable to take water out of a dying river and pump it over the hill to a city.
“Please have a heart Melbourne, don’t steal Murray River water. The river needs it.”
“We have alternatives, the river does not”
The alarm was set for 5.30am but I was awake well before that. At 6:15am we were on Red Symonds’ show on ABC radio Victoria. I liked Red and I think the interview went OK.
At lunch time we had Stateline out to do some filming and an interview, and again that seemed to go quite well. I was bloody cold as I had been wet, tipped the kayak over, it was raining and there was a South Easterly breeze. In fact I reckoned I’d had just about enough of Victorian winters and paddling upstream. Only one more day of this silly stuff and then I get to saunter over a hill called the Great Dividing Range.
We called it a day at 25km. I had been soaked all day. There had been lots of rapids, lots of slogging along and just inching forwards but I guess it is all character building.
